New Brunswick Scientific BioFlo 310 Benchtop Autoclavable Fermentor & Bioreactor
System
The BioFlo 310 benchtop Bioreactor can be used for
Batch, fed-batch and continuous fermentation for growing a wide variety of cell
types: microbes, yeast and fungi, as well as mammalian, insect and plant cell
lines with the use of optional accessories. Interchangeable, autoclavable glass
vessels are available in two sizes 3.5 and 14.0 liters (total volume).

New Brunswick Scientific INNOVA 44 Stackable Incubator Shakers
The Intuitive Programming allows multiple parameter
changes-temperature, speed, photosynthetic lights and UV light decontamination.
All are easily changed on a timed basis. Ideal for heat inductions or
temperature reductions to slow growth, eliminating unnecessary trips back to the
lab. Superior Air Circulation System with low-watt-density resistance heaters
for rapid temperature equilibration and excellent uniformity.
Precisely-Regulated Temperature, ranging from +5ºC above ambient to 80ºC;
accurate within ±0.1ºC. Dynamic Speed Range from 25 to 400 rpm controlled within
±1 rpm. Timed Shaking from 0.1 to 99.9 hours, or continuous shaking. Extra-Large
Chamber holds flasks up to 5 liters.

BD FACSAria Cell Sorting System
This is the first benchtop high-speed sorter with
fixed-alignment cuvette flow cell capabilities. Cuvette flow cell for superior
fluorescence sensitivity, up to three air-cooled lasers at 488-nm, 633-nm, and
407-nm wavelengths. Digital acquisition rates of up to 70,000 events/second.
Multicolor analysis of up to 15 parameters, Two- and four-way bulk sorting
devices for a variety of tube sizes. Optional BD™ Automated Cell Deposition Unit
(ACDU) for sorting to BD Multiwell™ plates or microscope slides.

Biacore Life Sciences - BIAcore 3000
The BIAcore 3000 system is an instrument that uses SPR
technology for measuring the interactions of macromolecules with each other, and
with small ligands. One of the ligands is immobilized on carboxymethylated
dextran over a gold surface, while the second partner (analyte) is captured as
it flows over the immobilized ligand surface. Typical amounts of a protein
ligand needed for an immobilization reaction is about 1 µg. The immobilized
ligands are remarkably resilient and maintain their biological activity. The
bound analytes can be stripped from the immobilized ligand without affecting its
activity to allow many cycles of binding and regeneration on the same
immobilized surface. Interaction is detected via SPR, in real time, at high
sensitivity, without the use of radioactivity. Affinity is measurable in the
range of 105 - 5x1011 M-1. Concentration determination experiments are also
feasible.

Thermo Electron Corporation - FRENCH Press
This French press can be used for following
applications; Enzyme preparation and isolation, Cell extract preparation,
Bacterial and plant tissue disintegration, Recovery of intercellular proteins
and nucleic acid, Preparation of viral antigens for EIA test kits, Membrane
preparation for rhizobia and pseudomonads, Disruption of bacillus spores and
vegetative cells for pigment analysis, and Analytical fractionation of
epithelial cells. Two models of FRENCH Pressure Cells are available - The 40K
cell has a maximum working pressure of 40,000 psi and a cell capacity of 35ml.
The miniature cell for work with small sample volumes holds from 1.4 to 3.7 mL
and has a maximum working pressure of 20,000 psi. The FRENCH Pressure Cell
delivers higher pressures than bombs or decompression systems, without
pre-treating the sample.

The NanoDrop® ND-1000 UV-Vis Spectrophotometer enables
highly accurate analyses of 1 ul samples with remarkable reproducibility. The
ND-1000 offers many benefits such as being designed for 1 ul samples, having a
large dynamic range that measures 2-3700 ng/ul (dsDNA) on a single sample. No
need to change out cuvettes or caps. High absorbance capability: 50 times that
of traditional spectrophotometers, and no dilutions for most samples.

BIO-TEK - Synergy™ HT Multi-Mode Microplate Reader
The Synergy™ HT Multi-Mode Microplate Reader can be
used for fluorescence, absorbance and luminescence measurements. Unlike many
multi-mode microplate readers, the Synergy HT utilizes a unique dual-optics
design which allows the investigator to have three different reading modes
without compromise. It can read 6- to 384-well plate formats including PCR trays
and Terasaki plates.

MJ Research - PTC 200 Thermal Cycler
MJR PTC-200-The MJ Research PTC-200 is a dual 48-well
block gradient thermocycler which allows two independent programs to be run at
the same time. The PTC-200 also uses the Hot Bonnet to allow oil-free operation.
Precise Peltier-effect heat pumps deliver the full temperature range of 0-100C
electronically, in a compact instrument with a footprint that measures 24cm x
28cm x 27cm high. Speedy ramping rates of up to 3.0 sec in models that hold
0.2ml tubes or V-well plates
