Call for Research - High Throughput Screening

Drug and Diagnostic Institute offers research money.

May 12, 2006

The new Texas Institute for Drug and Diagnostics Development (TI-3D) is planning for the initial formation of a high throughput screening facility, which will be a user facility for scientists at The University of Texas at Austin working in the general area of drug or diagnostics development.
To help jump start use of the facility, the TI-3D will support up to four projects with $100,000 each. The support is intended for a postdoctoral level researcher who will use the facility for research.
Interested faculty from any department should contact Brent Iverson (512-471-5053, biverson@mail.utexas.edu) for details of the application process (there will be a 2-3 page application) or more information about TI-3D.
Because a major focus of the TI-3D is to facilitate interactions between the university and researchers at medical schools, a key criterion for the support will be the extent of interactions with medical institutions. It is assumed that these projects will seed drug or diagnostics development projects that will transition to NIH support.
The TI-3D is a university-wide initiative that was created to assist University of Texas at Austin scientists in the translation of basic science and technologies into health-related applications.
